Lu4 Alpha-1: Client Installation and Update

After installing the update, open the official launcher and update the client files. Instructions for each installation scenario are provided below.

For players who preloaded the Alpha-1 client

After installing the June 22 update, open the launcher and click “Update Files”. If you had the Pre-Alpha client installed, the launcher will automatically remove it and complete the Alpha-1 client update.

Update the files after the patch

After installing the update, open the launcher and wait for the file check and download to complete.

Lu4 and MasterWork are compatible

Both clients can be stored in the same folder and run using the same launcher.

Torrent download is not available yet

The new client can currently be downloaded only through the official launcher.

Launcher update

Once the update is installed, the launcher will update itself automatically and the Pre-install button will disappear.

Open the launcher

Make sure you have the latest version, 1.7.0.8. You can download the latest version from the website.

Click “Update Files”

The launcher will check the previously downloaded files and download any missing Alpha-1 client files.

Wait for the update to finish

If you had the Pre-Alpha client installed, the launcher will automatically remove it and complete the Alpha-1 client update.

Download the official launcher

Visit the website

Place the launcher in a separate folder

The launcher downloads the game into the folder where it is stored.
Open it and make sure version 1.7.0.8 is installed. The version number is shown in the bottom-left corner.

Select the Lu4 server in Settings

This tells the launcher which client it needs to download.

Click “Check Files”

The launcher will start checking and downloading the client. Do not close it until the file update is complete.

If MasterWork is already installed

Use one shared folder and one launcher. The Lu4 and MasterWork clients do not conflict. If they are currently in separate folders, move them into a single shared folder.

Update the launcher to version 1.7.0.8

Restart it. If the automatic update does not work, download the new version from the website.

Keep the launcher in the MasterWork folder

Lu4 will be downloaded alongside the existing client without affecting it.

Select the Lu4 server

Open the launcher settings and switch to the appropriate server.

Click “Update Files”

The launcher will check the files and update the Lu4 client in the same shared folder.

Key points

Can I use a different client?

No. Lu4 only works with the client downloaded via the official launcher.

Where is the torrent?

Torrent downloads are currently unavailable. The files may be provided later if necessary.

What should I do after the June 22 update?

Open the launcher and click “Check Files”. If you had the Pre-Alpha client installed, the launcher will automatically remove it and complete the Alpha-1 client update.
