Dear friends,

The E-Global team is glad to present you with the long-awaited patch note 🙃— a detailed description of the updates awaiting you in MasterWork Season 6! We've done a tremendous amount of work and are confident you'll appreciate the results. New challenges await you in the game world. Be open to new experiences — the courage to try the unknown will never betray your expectations. Sometimes, the real joy of the game begins when you dare to push your limits.

The Open Beta Test (OBT) will launch on October 17th —a great opportunity to test updates, try out new mechanics, and thoroughly prepare for the starting race. And on October 24th at 20:00,  will be the long-awaited start! Assemble your team, plan your strategy, and be ready to show your best. The new season promises to be truly intense!

    • The date of the first Territorial Wars will be announced later (around December):

    • All skills will be automatically learned at levels 1-39;
    • Learning regular skills no longer requires books. Skills can be learned directly from the character's skills window;
    • The learning levels for most skills have been changed. They are now learned at each level, and the increase in power and magical level of skills occurs gradually, rather than in stages as before:
      • Important!
        • This update is currently being finalized and will appear in the game closer to the start of the season.
           
  • Forgotten Scroll: Protection of Rune Will/Protection:
    • These skills are now learned for a character, not a specific class:
      • Now, when studying, it works on the main and all sub-classes, including future ones.
        • Important!
          • Learning these skills still requires the appropriate books.
    • Relevant for skills:

  • Aura Flash Mass skills:
    • AoE abilities now have a target limit in PvP equal to the current target limit in PvE:
      • The limits themselves remain unchanged. For most abilities, this limit is 12-16 targets.
    • The target limit has been added to the description of skills in the game;
    • The change affected the skills that:
      • Skills that deal direct AoE damage — skill0007.png Sonic Storm skill0024.png Burst Shot knivesout.png Knives Out skill1171.png Blazing Circle and others;
      • Debuffs that deal direct AoE damage — skill0793.png Rush Impact skill0407.png Psycho Symphony skill1382.png Mass Gloom skill0048.png Thunder Storm and others;
      • In rare cases — debuffs that do not cause damage, for example skill0452.png Shock Stomp;
      • An important exception!
        • The Aura Flash skill skill1417.png after level 76 (and enchantment by +1 or higher) has no target limit in both PvP and PvE.
    • Direct debuffs (except for rare exceptions) have no target limit — for example, Overlord skills;
    • This change affects not only the balance, but also the performance of the game.
       
  • Fire Vortex Vortex skills:
    • The logic for all skills in this group has been improved. Damage calculation now occurs after the debuff has been calculated:
      • If the debuff is successfully passed, the skill will deal more damage;
      • If the debuff does not pass, the damage will remain the same.
         
  • skill14212.png PvE Clarity:
    • Reduces MP consumption of Magic skills that deal damage to a single target;
    • Appears in the Soul Breaker class after receiving the 2nd profession;
    • Automatically learned by all Mystic classes;
    • The effect gradually decreases from 30% at level 15 to 10% at character level 80.
       
  • skill0312.png Vicious Stance:
    • The skill has been removed from the following classes:
      • Human Warrior/Gladiator/Warlord;
      • Orc Raider/Destroyer.

  • skill0100.png Debuff mechanics:
    • Most debuffs in the game increase resistance to their debuff type for the duration;
    • This mechanic significantly complicates the imposition of "stun on stun", "sleep on sleep" and so on.
       
  • ability_lock.png Block Buff:
    • Blocks receiving buffs from all unfriendly characters;
    • Automatically learned by all characters upon creation;
    • Toggle skill (aura);
    • Does not require MP to operate, does not take up a buff slot.
       
  • Final Secret The operation of various effects that increase the power of skills has been adjusted.

Class skills

  • The MasterWork team is constantly improving and developing class mechanics. We take balance very seriously and have put considerable effort into making all classes in the game engaging and relevant. While perfect balance is obviously impossible (though we strive for it), class popularity fluctuates both from season to season and within a single season. In your Personal Account, you can find a statistics section where, in addition to other interesting information, you can track class preferences among our players in near real time. For example, here are statistics from the Eternal server, accumulated over five years of MasterWork. Updated information for Season 6 will be available immediately after its launch.
     
  • image.png Kamael:
    • The Kamael race is available from the start of the server;
    • The Inspector (Judicator) class is not available at launch and will appear in the second half of December, when the server grows to 3rd professions.
       
    • Appetite for Destruction Appetite for Destruction:
      • Skill parameters have been reduced at all levels (including enchanting);
      • Final parameters:
        • P. Atk. +15%/20%/25%;
        • P. Crit. Chance +15%/20%/25%;
        • P. Crit. Power +15%/20%/25%.
      • All enchanting branches have been removed except for image.png Recycle:
        • Reduces skill cooldown from 300 to 150 seconds;
        • Accordingly, the reuse skill1476.pngbm_doll_bound_panel.png blocking time is also reduced.
           
    • Magic Impulse Magic Impulse:
      • The skill parameters remained unchanged;
      • All enchanting branches have been removed except for image.png Recycle:
        • Reduces skill cooldown from 300 to 150 seconds;
        • Accordingly, the reuse skill1479.pngbm_doll_bound_panel.png blocking time is also reduced.
           
    • Soul Barrier Soul Barrier:
      • Parameters adjusted:
        • Bow Resistance +15%;
        • Crossbow Resistance +15%;
        • M. Def. +50%;
        • Chance to Block Magic +10 units (which is +10%).
           
    • Prahnah Prahnah:
      • Reduced skill cooldown to 180 seconds (fixed cooldown);
      • Added a post-effect that prevents the effect from being applied to players again for 180 seconds;
      • All enchanting branches have been removed except image.png Time;
      • Skill parameters have been changed:
        • At level 60: M. Def. of all party members +50% and 250. Duration: 15 sec.;
        • At level 72: M. Def. of all party members +50% and 500. Duration: 20 sec.;
        • At level 78: M. Def. of all party members +50% and 1500. Duration: 30 sec.
           
    • skill0482.png Furious Soul:
      • Additionally increases the damage of Physical and Magical skills in PvE by 10% and 15%, depending on the skill level;
      • The first level of the skill is available to all Kamael classes at level 24;
      • The second level of the skill is available to the Berserker and Soul Breaker classes at level 55.

      • The skill is available to Soul Breaker from levels 40 to 80;
      • Reduces MP consumption of skills that deal damage to a single target;

        • In PvP the chance is always 15%.
      • When upgrading a skill to any branch, a bonus to casting range is added — +10 for each upgrade level:
        • From 500 (1000) to 800 (1300).

      • The skill now deals Over-hit; 
      • Cooldown increased from 3 to 5 seconds;

  • Shield Stun Tanks:
    • Icons:
      • The parameters of all tank combat icons have been revised:
        • As a reminder, MasterWork's icons are divided into combat and Olympic versions:
          • Olympic icons work as standard;
          • Combat versions do not require charging (can be used at any time).
        • General changes:
          • The duration at all levels is 30 seconds;
          • Cooldown has been reduced and fixed at all levels (buffs and other effects no longer affect the cooldown):
            • At character level 60: fixed 300 seconds (5 minutes);
            • At character level 72: fixed 260 seconds (4 minutes 20 seconds);
            • At character level 79: fixed 220 seconds (3 minutes 40 seconds);
            • At character level 83: fixed 180 seconds (3 minutes).

  • Experience and SP. Fatigue system
  • image.png Character Fatigue is a leveling limitation system that reduces the experience gained from monsters and raid bosses after reaching a certain amount of EXP per day:
    • The system divides the character's state into four stages:

      • image.png Fatigue Lv.1 (Battle Worn Lv.1) – the first stage of fatigue after exceeding the daily experience limit (10% of the base);

    • The fatigue system affects all experience gained by the character (monsters and bosses, instances, quests);
      • The exception to this rule is experience from reading books and missions:
        • Experience for quests — consumes fatigue points, depends on experience rates;
        • Experience for instances - consumes fatigue points, depends on experience rates;
        • Experience for missions — does not consume fatigue points;
        • Experience gained from reading books does not consume fatigue points.
    • Fatigue does not affect SP, item and Adena production:
      • Important!
        • The fatigue system reduces experience earned beyond the limit. This means there's no point in "hitting the cap" by killing bosses or turning in quests when you're low on fatigue.
    • For each character sub-class, fatigue is calculated separately;
    • Fatigue resets daily at 6:30 AM server time (GMT+2). When reset, the character is once again Battle Ready and has a full day's worth of experience:
      • The daily fatigue limit will change as the season progresses;
      • On launch day (October 24), all characters will receive a 3-day experience limit. From Monday (October 27) onward, experience will be awarded daily;
      • Experience limits for the launch weekend and first week will be published closer to the server launch.
         
    • If a player doesn't use all of their daily experience, the remainder carries over to the next day. The system allows for experience accumulation to compensate for missed days:
      • Important!
        • Experience accumulates at all stages of fatigue.
    • When creating a new character, the experience limit will be the current value on the day of creation;
    • You can find tables of experience required to gain levels and a description of the mechanics of accruing experience in a group and experience penalties in our Wikipedia.

Location updates

 

  • Tower of Insolence:
    • The location has been expanded. Spots have been reworked, and all floors have been updated. Monster difficulty and loot value have been increased. Additionally, x10 monsters—stronger opponents similar to champions — have appeared in the location. They pose a serious threat and are intended for experienced adventurers.
       
  • General changes:
    • All locations and monsters in them have been reworked:
      • Improved monster placement and population;
      • Respawn time and rewards have been reworked — both Adena and items, as well as the Experience and SP received;
      • There are no longer any monsters with 1/2 health multiplier in the game:
        • All such monsters have become stronger, and the rewards have become fairer compared to other monsters.
      • Important!
        • Now, all locations in the game are relevant and profitable. We've done a great deal of work to eliminate situations where one location clearly stands out from others of a similar level. We recommend choosing a leveling spot based on your own practical experience, rather than relying on some "meta" established by the community years ago. MasterWork is evolving, and we want you to develop your gaming experience with us.
        • Due to numerous changes, we strongly discourage you from using third-party knowledge bases, as the information they contain may differ significantly from what you'll find in-game.     • Armor has also received significant improvements. In addition to standard sets, D-grade "mini-sets" consisting of two pieces with their own unique bonuses have been added to the game. These sets lack the usual bonuses from OE refinement, but allow for more meaningful and consistent equipment development. All armor can also be gradually upgraded at NPC merchants within the same grade.
    • In addition to the usual D-grade sets, we've added new full-fledged sets with their own bonuses, improving the variability of character development.
       
    • All NPC stores in all cities have been standardized in terms of product range, prices, and types:

    • Shadow weapon:
      • D-grade only, available for coupons (after your first profession) and Adena. Shadow weapons of C-grade and higher are not available in the game.
    • Item upgrade system available:
      • NG Weapons, Armor and Jewelry can be gradually upgraded (within a grade) by NPCs for an additional fee;
      • D-grade Weapons, Armor and Jewelry can be gradually upgraded (within a grade) by NPCs for an additional fee (except for items not available in the store);
      • Low/mid C-grade weapons, armor, and jewelry can be gradually upgraded at the Blacksmith Mammon (within the grade) or from NPCs for an additional fee (except for items unavailable in Luxor). Top C-grade items are only available through crafting or drops.
         
    • At MasterWork, we've reworked the armor enchanting mechanics. In addition to increasing health, enchanting an entire set to a certain value provides additional bonuses depending on the armor's grade and type;
      • All armor with enchantment +3 and higher (previously from +4) received updated bonuses to maximum HP;
      • Full armor has a x1.5 modifier to maximum HP;
      • Bonuses for enchanting up to +6 have increased significantly, from +6 to +8 they have been reduced, and above +9 they have been significantly reduced;
      • There are no additional bonuses when enchanting above +10 (they remain the same as for +10);
