General changes Class Skill Changes General changes PvE bonuses: VIP level no longer increases defense and attack in PvE; VIP4 bonuses have been changed: Adena Seal Stones 5% 10% 15% 20% Drop Spoil 5% 10% 15% 20% Inventory slots 10 20 30 40 Mail slots 2 4 6 8 Loss of experience -10% -20% -30% -40% Clan Unity no longer increases defense in PvE; Clan Unity bonuses have been changed: Exp SP - 3% 4% 5% MP Regeneration - 7% 10% 15% HP Regeneration - 7% 10% 15% Learning skills: All skills will be automatically learned at levels 1-39; Learning regular skills no longer requires books. Skills can be learned directly from the character's skills window; The learning levels for most skills have been changed. They are now learned at each level, and the increase in power and magical level of skills occurs gradually, rather than in stages as before: Important! This update is currently being finalized and will appear in the game closer to the start of the season. Will/Protection: These skills are now learned for a character, not a specific class: Now, when studying, it works on the main and all sub-classes, including future ones. Important! Learning these skills still requires the appropriate books. Relevant for skills: Will (both first and second level): Fighter's Will; Archer's Will; Magician's Will; Protection: Protection of Rune; Protection of Elemental; Protection of Alignment. Mass skills: AoE abilities now have a target limit in PvP equal to the current target limit in PvE: The limits themselves remain unchanged. For most abilities, this limit is 12-16 targets. The target limit has been added to the description of skills in the game; The change affected the skills that: Skills that deal direct AoE damage — Sonic Storm Burst Shot Knives Out Blazing Circle and others; Debuffs that deal direct AoE damage — Rush Impact Psycho Symphony Mass Gloom Thunder Storm and others; In rare cases — debuffs that do not cause damage, for example Shock Stomp; An important exception! The Aura Flash skill after level 76 (and enchantment by +1 or higher) has no target limit in both PvP and PvE. Direct debuffs (except for rare exceptions) have no target limit — for example, Overlord skills; This change affects not only the balance, but also the performance of the game. Vortex skills: The logic for all skills in this group has been improved. Damage calculation now occurs after the debuff has been calculated: If the debuff is successfully passed, the skill will deal more damage; If the debuff does not pass, the damage will remain the same. PvE Clarity: Reduces MP consumption of Magic skills that deal damage to a single target; Appears in the Soul Breaker class after receiving the 2nd profession; Automatically learned by all Mystic classes; The effect gradually decreases from 30% at level 15 to 10% at character level 80. Vicious Stance: The skill has been removed from the following classes: Human Warrior/Gladiator/Warlord; Orc Raider/Destroyer. Please note! This skill increases the damage of blow skills, and does not apply on auto attacks. Debuff mechanics: Most debuffs in the game increase resistance to their debuff type for the duration; This mechanic significantly complicates the imposition of "stun on stun", "sleep on sleep" and so on. Block Buff: Blocks receiving buffs from all unfriendly characters; Automatically learned by all characters upon creation; Toggle skill (aura); Does not require MP to operate, does not take up a buff slot. The operation of various effects that increase the power of skills has been adjusted. Class skills The MasterWork team is constantly improving and developing class mechanics. We take balance very seriously and have put considerable effort into making all classes in the game engaging and relevant. While perfect balance is obviously impossible (though we strive for it), class popularity fluctuates both from season to season and within a single season. In your Personal Account, you can find a statistics section where, in addition to other interesting information, you can track class preferences among our players in near real time. For example, here are statistics from the Eternal server, accumulated over five years of MasterWork. Updated information for Season 6 will be available immediately after its launch. Experience and SP. Fatigue system Character Fatigue is a leveling limitation system that reduces the experience gained from monsters and raid bosses after reaching a certain amount of EXP per day: The system divides the character's state into four stages: Without fatigue (Battle Ready) – the character receives experience in full (100% of the base); Fatigue Lv.1 (Battle Worn Lv.1) – the first stage of fatigue after exceeding the daily experience limit (10% of the base); Fatigue Lv.2 (Battle Worn Lv.2) – the second stage of fatigue, further reduces the experience gained (5% of the base); Fatigue Lv.3 (Battle Worn Lv.3) – maximum fatigue (1% of base). Updated informative interface for the fatigue system: Displays remaining experience, current stage and rating, death penalties. Important! The numbers shown in the screenshot are not actual and are for visual purposes only. Hidden text The fatigue system affects all experience gained by the character (monsters and bosses, instances, quests); The exception to this rule is experience from reading books and missions: Experience for quests — consumes fatigue points, depends on experience rates; Experience for instances - consumes fatigue points, depends on experience rates; Experience for missions — does not consume fatigue points; Experience gained from reading books does not consume fatigue points. Fatigue does not affect SP, item and Adena production: Important! The fatigue system reduces experience earned beyond the limit. This means there's no point in "hitting the cap" by killing bosses or turning in quests when you're low on fatigue. For each character sub-class, fatigue is calculated separately; Fatigue resets daily at 6:30 AM server time (GMT+2). When reset, the character is once again Battle Ready and has a full day's worth of experience: The daily fatigue limit will change as the season progresses; On launch day (October 24), all characters will receive a 3-day experience limit. From Monday (October 27) onward, experience will be awarded daily; Experience limits for the launch weekend and first week will be published closer to the server launch. If a player doesn't use all of their daily experience, the remainder carries over to the next day. The system allows for experience accumulation to compensate for missed days: Important! Experience accumulates at all stages of fatigue. When creating a new character, the experience limit will be the current value on the day of creation; You can find tables of experience required to gain levels and a description of the mechanics of accruing experience in a group and experience penalties in our Wikipedia. Experience loss on death (subject to change): Cheerful Tired Death by monster or boss 4% 1% Death in PvP/from a warrior 0.5% 0.1% Death in Siege/NoPK/PvP zones 0% 0% Death by PK 1% 0.5% A character is considered tired at all stages except Battle Ready; PK characters lose 4% experience upon death under any conditions; Experience loss is reduced by various effects, such as: Clan skills; Academic's Crown (passive skill, automatically awarded upon graduation from the Academy); Blessed MW Ring and its analogues. Fixed a bug where the experience loss reduction effect on death would reduce the chance of items dropping from PK characters; Fixed a bug where the experience loss reduction on death was not applied when dying from a Battle Royale. The effect now works correctly in these cases as well. Hunting Locations and Zones. Raid Bosses The following Hot Springs effects now last 2 minutes: Hot Springs Rheumatism; Hot Springs Cholera; Hot Springs Flu; Hot Spring Malaria. Location updates Tower of Insolence: The location has been expanded. Spots have been reworked, and all floors have been updated. Monster difficulty and loot value have been increased. Additionally, x10 monsters—stronger opponents similar to champions — have appeared in the location. They pose a serious threat and are intended for experienced adventurers. General changes: All locations and monsters in them have been reworked: Improved monster placement and population; Respawn time and rewards have been reworked — both Adena and items, as well as the Experience and SP received; There are no longer any monsters with 1/2 health multiplier in the game: All such monsters have become stronger, and the rewards have become fairer compared to other monsters. Important! Now, all locations in the game are relevant and profitable. We've done a great deal of work to eliminate situations where one location clearly stands out from others of a similar level. We recommend choosing a leveling spot based on your own practical experience, rather than relying on some "meta" established by the community years ago. MasterWork is evolving, and we want you to develop your gaming experience with us. Due to numerous changes, we strongly discourage you from using third-party knowledge bases, as the information they contain may differ significantly from what you'll find in-game. We're developing the MasterWork Wikipedia specifically for you, where our Archivists are compiling the most comprehensive knowledge base for the game. Each location now has a clear typology: Label Purpose Compound Complexity Characteristic Solo zone 1-2 characters Average Moderate damage and density. Small group 3-5 characters Above average Challenging monsters, social aggression, high damage. Ideal for hunting in a close-knit small group. Full group 6-9 characters High They require a full party and good equipment. The monsters have increased damage and health. Each territory contains zones of all types. Players are free to choose their own path: play alone, take a friend, or team up with other players to form a full-fledged group; Each location has a recommended level range. This means: The minimum is a comfortable entrance to the location; Maximum is the limit of effectiveness (further EXP and drop decrease); Example: Dragon Valley, G, 44–64 → Ideal for groups of 6+ characters from level 44 to 64. In addition to standard sets, D-grade "mini-sets" consisting of two pieces with their own unique bonuses have been added to the game. These sets lack the usual bonuses from OE refinement, but allow for more meaningful and consistent equipment development. All armor can also be gradually upgraded at NPC merchants within the same grade. In addition to the usual D-grade sets, we've added new full-fledged sets with their own bonuses, improving the variability of character development. All NPC stores in all cities have been standardized in terms of product range, prices, and types: From the start, the following items are available in NPC stores: All NG armor and weapons; All D-grade armor and weapons, except for set ends (depending on the specific set). We remind you: In MasterWork, Labyrinth of the Abyss and Kartia share a cooldown, meaning you can only complete one instance in each period; To enter additional instances, you can purchase a special ticket in the Game Store or from the NPC Butler; Loot from most instances is personal (both experience and drops). We recommend completing instances in a full group. Epic and Raid Bosses Epic Bosses: The schedule of epic Bosses at the start of the season will be published later; General changes: In MasterWork Season 6, we intend to reduce the overall number of Epics per week, while the rewards will be adjusted proportionally; Boss rotation frequency will increase; Boss respawns will be fixed, except in cases where a respawn window is provided for by the boss's combat mechanics (for example, Frintezza). Raid Bosses: The respawn time of most raid bosses in the game has been reduced; Increased boss strength and rewards for defeating them: Important! Raid bosses and their settings are currently being finalized and will appear in the game closer to the start of the season. Proof of Loyalty, an item required to learn clan skills, has been added to the loot from all bosses; Now bosses will appear in the game world gradually: Bosses with loot up to B-grade will be available from the start; As the server develops, new bosses with higher-level rewards will appear. As a reminder, on MasterWork servers, raid bosses "flag" characters and also appear temporarily invulnerable. Game client updates Command Channel Leader Highlight: Added a new feature to highlight the leader of the command channel (CC); Can be turned on or off in settings; Bright visual indication will help you not to get lost in the heat of battle; You can find other useful client features in our Wikipedia. Experience effects: The game now features a new setting that allows you to separate effects that affect Experience (Energy Potions, Experience Runes, etc.) from the main buff panel and place them in a convenient location on the screen: Hidden text To enable, go to Options > E-global > Separate Exp Buff: Hidden text Interactive learning system (the system is in the final stages of development and will appear shortly after the launch): A training system built into the game client; At key levels or during certain events, notifications will appear on the screen that link to the in-game help system. We recommend you don't ignore — they help you identify key goals and priorities at certain points in the game: Some articles will have an embedded audio track that will provide more detailed information from the article; For players whose skill level is significantly higher than average, there will be an option to disable the appearance of hints in the future. The system will regularly prompt and inform you about MasterWork's features, as well as the game's main highlights: Skills are divided into types: Key class skills. For those just starting out in the game; MasterWork improvements. For experienced players new to our game; New unique abilities. A brief patch note is available in-game. In the future, we will add a wider range of features related to various aspects of the game. A separate part of the new hint system is the skill information system. It is divided into three skill groups: Key Character Skills: Skills that you need to put on your hotbar and leave them there until level 85; Improved and Changed Skills: Skills that have received a number of improvements or changes in MW; New Skills: Exclusive skills that were created exclusively for MW players. Forum recruiting (the system is in the final stages of development and will be available shortly after launch): A new system for finding a constant party or clan with many interactive and automated features; Allows you to create an ad and respond to it in semi-automatic mode; The system's name directly reflects its essence: you can communicate with applicants directly in the game, without the need for third-party services. You don't need to be in the game all the time to communicate and exchange information; Available functions: Search const party: Request from a player wishing to find a permanent group to play in: The system automatically downloads character information, such as level, class, and equipment. You can also specify additional details, such as your prime time. Clan looking for groups/alliance: The system allows clan leaders to submit requests to recruit organized groups or other clans to form an alliance. The group is looking for a player: The group leader creating the announcement can specify the following information: Name of the leader and name of the group; Group type (archers, mages...); Play style (PvP, PvE, mixed); Description of the group's equipment; Voice chat information; Prime time; Contacts for communication outside the game; Requirements for applicants. Sample interface: Important! The system is under development and the interface is not final. Hidden text Golden Pig: The golden pig model has become better, although it would seem there is still room for improvement. Signs: A new item has been added to the in-game store that, when used, places a sign on the ground with a corresponding inscription or image: GGWP OWNED Spot Taken OWNED HARD Shit Face Clown Face The GGWP, OWNED, and Spot Taken plates sell for 500k Adena and have a shared cooldown of 10 minutes; OWNED HARD, Shit Face, and Clown Face signs have a 15 MC. These signs have an individual 10-minute cooldown; All signs are installed for 10 minutes and cannot be installed close to each other; Now you don't have to engage in lengthy polemics with competitors. You can immediately establish who's boss. Please note! The project administration is not responsible for material damage or injury caused during battles for the spot. Weapon Models: Weapon models have been improved, from Top-B to S-grade. This applies to both the weapon in the character's hand and the model of dropped weapons: We'll be updating other weapon models over time. These changes improve visual appearance and positively impact game performance. Rare weapons now have their own unique, recognizable appearance; Our artists have created new models for the Kamael's Top-A weapons, based on these. Previously, these weapons used models from lower-graded items; This update, in addition to the visual effect, also reduces the load on the system due to the use of modern compression algorithms. Robes: The game now features new unique models of cloaks — mantles; Limited edition — there cannot be more than 50 robes on two servers; Each robe can have its own unique design. More details in a separate topic; Cost: 2 500 Master Coins. Payment is accepted only from your Personal Account balance. To order, please contact Customer Support on the website. Profession quests can now be completed in a group—all participants will receive quest items: We recommend using our career guides. The MasterWork library has compiled all the tasks (both step-by-step and 3-in-1) into one convenient article. Experience and rewards for all quest marks for the 2nd profession have been standardized: The amount of experience gained has been reduced; In addition to standard rewards (experience, SP, Diamonds), professions also award chests with consumable items: Important!
