Gamma, Black and White — 10:00 (UTC+3, Kyiv / Moscow / Minsk) Carmine — 04:00 (UTC−3, Buenos Aires / Montevideo / Brasília) About the update Dear friends, the game worlds Gamma, Black, White and Carmine continue to evolve, and the game itself changes along with them. We continue to gradually expand the capabilities of Lu4, paying special attention to how convenient, clear, and cohesive the existing mechanics feel. New interface elements will help you find the information you need faster and make interaction with game systems more comfortable. Extensive technical work also continues on the game core and client optimization. Some changes will be noticeable immediately, while others will remain "under the hood," providing better performance, stability, and a foundation for further project development. About game client development and optimization For some players, client performance during large-scale events remains the main issue. When hundreds and thousands of characters gather in one location, reduced frame rates, delays, and unstable client operation cause discomfort. The problem is known, and work on it is ongoing. This is not about one setting, a single animation, or an effect that can simply be disabled. The causes lie deeper and are related to how the game client processes a large number of characters, actions, and constantly updated data. Adding new features does not mean that work on performance has been stopped or postponed. Different areas of development proceed in parallel: while some work on the interface, content, and game mechanics, specialized experts work on the client core, its stability, and behavior under heavy load. Completed improvements continue to make their way into the game, while technical work requiring deeper changes proceeds at its own pace and goes through separate stages of development and testing. It is precisely and exclusively specialized experts who impact their area of development. One source of load was processing character movements. For example, in the most intense situations, the client could receive more than 3000 movement packets per second. After the changes, we managed to significantly reduce the amount of data transmitted and received from the movement system and other game components. Additionally, we optimized the processing of effects for some mass skills that created excessive load with a large number of targets and simultaneous activations. Other systems and windows were also optimized — these changes should have an especially noticeable effect on performance in intense battles. Disabling all animations would not solve the problem. We know which parts of the client require reworking and are addressing them consistently. Some of the results will become apparent gradually: through more stable operation, reduced load, and improved client behavior in the most demanding game situations. All the listed changes will appear in the game on Monday. Large-scale events will be their main practical test and will make it possible to assess the real effect of the optimization under maximum load. Work on performance remains our main technical priority, but at the same time, the game continues to evolve alongside the optimization. Rest assured — your FPS comfort is in safe hands and is the highest priority. And now let us return to the main content of the patch notes. In addition, starting October 19 a new location awaits players. Continue exploring the world, trying updated features, looking for weak points, and sharing your impressions — your feedback helps us become better. These patch notes contain all the major changes that will appear after maintenance on Monday, October 19. Thank you for playing and remaining part of Lu4. New feature Character Tavern The Personal Account opens the doors to its Character Tavern — a new official service for safely selling and buying characters. The sale of characters between players was permitted before, but only for in-game currency. Any transactions for real money are still strictly prohibited and lead to a permanent ban. Players now have another legal way to transfer a character — through the Personal Account, using its internal balance and with the transaction guaranteed by the project. Without transferring accounts and passwords Without third-party intermediaries With secure character transfer With the transaction guaranteed by the project How does the Tavern work? The character's owner sets its price independently and lists the hero for sale. The buyer pays the specified amount from their Personal Account balance, after which the character is transferred to their account. The seller is charged a service fee of 15%. For example, a character is listed for 1000 PA balance units: The buyer pays — 1000 The seller receives — 850 Tavern fee — 150 No separate wallet or trading balance is created for the Tavern — the regular Personal Account balance. The Tavern does not change the project's rules regarding RMT: selling characters for real money is still prohibited. The new service merely gives players another official and secure way to conduct such a transaction within the project. Who can be listed for sale? Before listing a character, the system will check that the mandatory conditions are met: Character level — 52 or higher Sale price — at least 500 PA balance units The character must not have Master Coin No more than 1 000 000 Adena in the inventory A transaction without unnecessary adventures The buyer does not need to receive someone else's account or transfer the character independently. The seller does not need to worry about the other party fulfilling the terms of the transaction. Character Tavern handles the process: the buyer receives the selected hero on their account, and the seller receives payment in their Personal Account balance. Everything takes place within the project, under clear rules and with a guarantee for both parties. Regular information Daily Fatigue limits Current limits for the period from October 12 to 26. More details about the system and weekly limits for new servers can be found in a separate article. Gamma Fatigue has been abolished. All characters can level up to level 75 and 100% experience. Black White Carmine 22 000 000 per day 5 500 000 per day Total: 27 500 000 per day Period Total 05.10–11.10 19 200 000 4 800 000 24 000 000 12.10–18.10 22 000 000 5 500 000 27 500 000 19.10–25.10 24 000 000 6 000 000 30 000 000 26.10–01.11 27 200 000 6 800 000 34 000 000 02.11–08.11 30 400 000 7 600 000 38 000 000 09.11–15.11 33 600 000 8 400 000 42 000 000 Game Client Character buff tracking The system has been improved for tracking character buffs. Now selected effects and debuffs can be moved from the main buff panel into separate groups. Each such panel can be independently placed in a convenient location on the screen and its scale can be configured separately. The selected effects system allows you to always keep your character's most important buffs in view — similar to the familiar effect tracking in the party window. Selected effects In the settings, you can select the buffs and effect groups that interest you. The selected effects will be displayed in a separate row independently of the main character buff window. Debuffs The debuff row can also be separated from the main list of effects and placed separately. Interface ▾ click to open/close Thus, buffs selected for tracking and debuffs can be displayed as independent groups. For each group, you can separately configure the interface scale. Each group can be freely positioned anywhere convenient on the screen independently of the other elements. The remaining duration is displayed for tracked effects. After an effect is removed or ends, its icon automatically disappears from the list. As the duration decreases, the color of the icon's border changes, allowing the effect's status to be assessed more quickly: The option Show completion animation enables border flashing when the effect is nearing completion. There are 4 time thresholds, each of which uses its own border color. The default values are 15, 30, 45, and 60 seconds. If the effect has been extended, the indicator is automatically updated according to the new remaining time. The threshold values can be changed independently in the settings. The selected effect settings, their position, scale, time thresholds, and animation parameters are saved for the character after re-entering the game. As a result, important buffs and debuffs can be assembled into convenient separate panels and placed exactly where it is easiest for you to monitor them during combat. Spell casting bar Completely updated Cast Bar — it now looks more modern, is more informative, and adapts significantly better to your interface. Several visual variants of the Cast Bar are available to choose from. The list of available variants will be expanded in future updates. The panel can be freely moved and placed anywhere convenient on the screen. Additional display settings have been added Settings▾ click to open/close Skill Cast Bar Style — selection of the Cast Bar's visual design. Show Skill Casting Bar — display mode selection: Always — always display. In Combat — display only during combat. While Casting — display only while using a skill. Off — completely hide the Cast Bar. Scale — Cast Bar scale setting. Skill Casting Bar Rotation — rotate by 90 degrees and use in a vertical format. Lock Skill Casting Bar — locks the panel from being moved around the screen. Shake Skill Casting Bar on Interrupt — when casting is interrupted, the panel visibly shakes, making it immediately clear that skill use was interrupted. Updated Alchemy interface The interface has been updated for Alchemy — working with recipes is now noticeably more convenient and clearer. Recipes are now divided into groups by the type of item created, making it easier to find the desired recipe. Recipe groups ▾ click to open/close A separate border. Items available for creation ▾ click to open/close Each recipe now displays its rank. Recipe ranks ▾ click to open/close A corresponding section with convenient subsections for finding reagents and finished alchemical products has appeared in Item Broker. Item Broker ▾ click to open/close Dark Fantasy Soul The experimental Dark Fantasy Soul stylization has been added. In the future, it may become the basis for new effects in the main game. You can enable Dark Fantasy Soul and other available styles in the Video > Stylization settings Visuals▾ click to open/close Various fixes and improvements Simplified and optimized character movement logic. The game's internal logic has been optimized. On systems with low FPS, the load should decrease and performance should become more stable. Another stage has been completed in VFX optimization. The display has been reworked for Danger Zone on the radar: the positions of all characters inside the zone are no longer displayed. This is an experimental change aimed at improving performance. A number of Damage Text fixes and improvements have been made: the display of combat information has been refined, and visual and logical errors have been fixed. The visuals and performance have been optimized for the party interface, including the display of members, buffs, and other elements. A number of additional fixes have also been made. The display of small effect icons has been improved in the minimized party window: their positioning and sorting have been fixed, making the information noticeably clearer. Fixed the selected display type spontaneously switching between Buff/Rhythm/Debuff when joining or leaving a party. The selected mode should no longer switch to the previous item without player action. Saving of party effect display settings has been improved: the selected mode is correctly saved within the running client and is not reset when the Party composition changes or when re-entering the game. In Ant Queen Nest the lighting and visual effects have been reworked. Camera interaction with environmental objects has been improved in Ant Queen Nest: it no longer clips into rocks. Previously, this could cause the scene to unload and reload, causing additional lag. The changes are related to improving the Frustum Culling system. In Ant Queen Nest the post-processing effect has been reduced: the image has become less green and visually cleaner, while the lighting has acquired a cooler blue tint. The changes are experimental — we will await player feedback. Fixed an issue with newly learned skills: in some cases, a new skill appeared in the skills window, but could not be used or moved to the shortcut bar until the window was reopened. Learned skills can now be used correctly immediately after learning. Switching between mouse and keyboard controls has been improved. Now, after moving with WASD the character will not stop when the mouse is clicked. The tooltip with the character's class has been fixed in the clan window: text readability has been improved and the tooltip's position adjusted so that the cursor no longer obscures it. The cost display when moving items to personal storage has been fixed. Previously, the interface displayed a cost of 0 Adena, although it actually correctly deducted 30 Adena per slot. The position of the storage fill percentage indicator has been fixed. The display of the number of occupied and available inventory slots at the bottom of the interface has been fixed. The values now match the data directly in the inventory window. The removal of macros from the shortcut bar has been fixed. Previously, after deleting a macro, a No Image icon could remain in its slot; the slot is now cleared correctly. Noticeable seams between textures have been removed in many locations, and various visual environment errors have also been fixed: floating rocks, incorrectly positioned trees, buildings, and other objects. A number of errors with the sounds of new skills have been fixed: more SFX now correctly respond to the corresponding volume settings. Some of the issues that led to sudden server disconnections have been fixed. A number of improvements and fixes have been made to ATOS — an optimization system that reduces load in intense and heavily loaded scenes. Skills and Mechanics Shadow of Death The charges of Shadow of Death now affect the character for 15 seconds instead of 5. Flames of Invincibility When changing subclasses, the skill now goes on cooldown for 5 minutes. Shield of Faith After changing subclasses, the skill goes on cooldown for 5 minutes. This limits excessively frequent use of the skill by switching subclasses, while preserving the ability to use such a strategy. War Frenzy The MP cost of maintaining the skill has been significantly reduced — to 0.4 MP per tick, with a consumption interval of once every 5 ticks. Skill effects by level: Level 1: Resistance to Stun +5%, Resistance to Sleep +10%. Level 2: Resistance to Stun +10%, Resistance to Sleep +15%. Level 3: Resistance to Stun +15%, Resistance to Sleep +20%. Piercing Attack The effect activation mechanic has been updated. Previously, Piercing Attack could only be triggered by regular attacks The effect can now be activated: by a regular attack — with a chance 15% when using Crushing Judgment — with a chance 30% When successfully triggered, the effect P. Def. -23% is applied to the enemy for 30 seconds. This effect is interchangeable with Hex. Battle Invocation The skill has been enhanced — the amount of restored MP per second: Level 1: 13 → 15 MP/sec. Level 2: 15 → 18 MP/sec. Level 3: 17 → 20 MP/sec. Level 4: 19 → 23 MP/sec. Level 5: 21 → 25 MP/sec. The MP restoration interval has been reduced from approximately 3.33 to 0.66 seconds. Characters now receive a smaller portion of MP per activation, but much more frequently, making restoration occur more smoothly and evenly. Over the full 15 seconds of the skill's duration, one character now nominally restores: Level 1: 195 → 225 MP. Level 2: 225 → 270 MP. Level 3: 255 → 300 MP. Level 4: 285 → 345 MP. Level 5: 315 → 375 MP. Stun Shot The skill can now deal Over-hit and Critical hit. Quiver of Arrow: B Grade A new skill for Hawkeye, Silver Ranger and Phantom Ranger, available to learn at level 52. Consumes 1 Crystal (B-Grade) and randomly creates from 1 500 to 3 000 Silver Arrow. The number of arrows created is determined in increments of 100: 1 500, 1 600, 1 700 and so on up to 3 000. Usage cost — 200 MP. Base cooldown — 10 minutes. Quiver of Arrow: A Grade The number of created Mithril Arrow per 1 Crystal (A-Grade) increased to 1 200–2 400. The amount is determined in increments of 100 arrows and with an equal chance for each possible value: 1 200, 1 300, 1 400 and so on up to 2 400. Usage cost reduced to 300 MP. Base cooldown remains unchanged — 10 minutes. Mark of Hunter The skill has been enhanced The base reduction of Resistance to Bow attacks has been increased at all skill levels: from 8% to 12%. If the effect was not removed, every 3 seconds it is reapplied and additionally reduces resistance to Bow attacks. Reapplication occurs up to 4 times. The additional reduction for each reapplication depends on the skill level: Level 1: 1% — 12% → 13% → 14% → 15% → 16%. Level 2: 2% — 12% → 14% → 16% → 18% → 20%. Level 3: 3% — 12% → 15% → 18% → 21% → 24%. Level 4: 4% — 12% → 16% → 20% → 24% → 28%. The duration of each stage of the effect is 3 seconds. Counter Dash The chance of the skill triggering when attacked has been increased: from 15% to 25%. When triggered, the effect is applied to the character and all members of their party: in Light Armor: Speed +10; in Heavy Armor and Robe Armor: Speed +8. Effect duration — 30 seconds. Fixed cooldown — 60 seconds. Summon Soulless Now, upon learning the skill, the character loses the skill Shadow Spark, by analogy with other summoner classes. Summoned creature skills The base chance of successfully landing the following Summons' Blow skills: Panther Fatal Claw (skill of Dark Panther) Cursed Blow (skill of Cursed Man) The following attacking skills of Summons have gained additional capabilities: they can now deal x2 Critical Damage and ignore Shield Defence. Mechanic Golem The skill Mech Cannon can now deal x2 Critical Damage and ignores Shield Defence. For Mechanic Golem level 9 of the skill Mech Cannon has been increased from 7 to 8. Cursed Man The skill Cursed Strike can now deal x2 Critical Damage and ignores Shield Defence. Critical skill damage For a number of physical skills, the base chance to deal x2 Critical Damage in PvE. The changes affect only PvE — values and mechanics in PvP remain unchanged. Razor Rain The base chance of the skill successfully landing has been significantly increased in PvE. The chance to deal x2 Critical Damage, depending on DEX, is now the base 15% at all skill levels in PvE. Previously, at early levels the value was lower and gradually increased to 15%. In PvP — unchanged. Force Burst The chance to deal x2 Critical Damage, depending on STR, in PvE has been increased to the base 15%. In PvP — unchanged: 15%. Force Storm The chance to deal x2 Critical Damage, depending on STR, in PvE has been increased to the base 15%. In PvP — unchanged: 15%. Whirlwind The chance to deal x2 Critical Damage, depending on STR, in PvE has been increased to the base 15%. In PvP — unchanged: 15%. Backstab The base chance of the skill successfully landing has been increased in PvE. In PvP — unchanged. The chance to deal x2 Critical Damage, depending on DEX, in PvE has been increased to the base 15%. In PvP the critical hit chance remains unchanged and still increases with the skill level — from 5% to 15%. Multiple Shot The chance to deal x2 Critical Damage, depending on STR, has been increased to the standard values for similar skills. In PvP the chance has been increased at early skill levels and now smoothly reaches 15%. At maximum level — unchanged. In PvE the chance has been increased at all skill levels, including the maximum, and reaches 25%. Passive skills The standardization of passive weapon mastery skills has continued. Bonus values have been rounded, inconvenient fractional values have been removed, and stat growth between levels has become smoother and more consistent. In some cases, later levels of passive skills received a slight enhancement — by analogy with the previously updated passive skills for armor, Polearm, Dagger, Bow and Dual Weapon mastery. In practice, the changes are minimal and do not radically alter the balance, but make the skills themselves significantly clearer and more precise in their values. For example, instead of arbitrary 1.9/79.4/99.3, clear values are now used 2/80/100, without strange jumps between adjacent levels. The following have been adjusted as part of this update: Weapon Mastery Sword/Blunt Weapon Mastery Sword/Blunt Weapon Mastery Two-handed Weapon Mastery Fist Weapon Mastery AoE skill target limits A full review has been conducted of 104 AoE skills, available to players, including summoned creature skills. Target limits have been brought to a uniform and more consistent standard, and their display in descriptions has been corrected to account for how these values are actually calculated by the game. Now all reviewed AoE skills have a target count limit in both PvE and PvP. For skills that were previously limited only in PvE, the corresponding limit has also been added in PvP. For this group of skills, the additional component of the PvE limit has been increased from 10 to 12 targets. The description now indicates the resulting range, taking into account the guaranteed number of targets. Individual values that stood out from similar skills for no apparent reason have been adjusted. For some non-targeted AoE skills the guaranteed minimum has been increased by 1 target, since they have no separate primary target, which is counted additionally for targeted AoE skills. An important clarification about the numbers in the description. Previously, the technical limit values were interpreted incorrectly: a notation of the form 6 + 12 was understood as the range "from 6 to 12". In fact, the first number denotes the guaranteed number of targets, and the second is the number of additional targets selected randomly if there are enough suitable targets nearby. For example, the value 8 + 12 means that the skill is guaranteed to affect 8 targets and can additionally affect another from 0 to 12. Thus, its actual range is from 8 to 20 targets. Similarly, 6 + 12 means from 6 to 18 targets. It is the final range that is now displayed in the tooltip: for example, 6~18 or 8~20. Therefore, the new number in the description does not necessarily mean the skill has been enhanced. If an old skill, for example Blazing Circle, was previously considered to be designed for 12 targets, and now shows 6~18, this does not mean its limit was increased to 18: the skill could already hit up to 18 targets, but its technical parameters were misinterpreted and displayed incorrectly by the client. Thus, there are two different types of adjustments under this item: Mechanical changes — standardization of individual outlier values, addition of PvP limits, and targeted adjustment of some PvE limits. Display correction — tooltips now show the actual total target range. By itself, this correction does not change how the skill works. To greatly simplify the general principle, the most common variants now look like this: Targeted attacking skills — primary target, 5 more guaranteed targets, and up to 12 additional targets: final range 6~18. Non-targeted attacking skills — 6 guaranteed and up to 12 additional targets: final range 6~18. Periodic damage, mass debuffs, and other indirect effects — often 8 guaranteed and up to 12 additional targets: final range 8~20. Separately, the changes affected the following skills, which previously remained without a target limit in PvP: Seal of Chaos Seal of Slow Seal of Winter Seal of Binding Seal of Poison Seal of Silence Seal of Scourge Seal of Suspension Mass Shackling Sleeping Cloud Mass Slow Mass Fear Word of Fear Howl Poisonous Cloud Corpse Plague Blaze Quake Sanctuary Divine Aura Requiem Provoke Challenge for Fate The system still has exceptions: the specific limit continues to depend on the skill's purpose and power. Skill Descriptions Periodic HP and MP Effects We adjusted the descriptions of periodic effects to make them easier to understand and compare with one another. Now HP/MP recovery or consumption values are specified per 1 second, rather than per one actual triggering of the effect. For example: «Restores 30 HP per sec.» or «MP Burn: 8 MP per sec.». At the same time, the actual mechanics of the effects have not changed. As before, HP or MP may change in portions at certain time intervals. That is, the new description shows the clear average effectiveness of the effect per second, while its actual trigger frequency remains unchanged. Other Skills We carried out an extensive reworking of the descriptions of various skills and effects. The changes affected both character skills and skills and effects from monsters, Bosses, and the environment. Many wordings were corrected, clarified, and standardized so that the information would be displayed more clearly, accurately, and visually. In particular, the descriptions of resource recovery and consumption effects, periodic effects, various buffs, debuffs, and other mechanics were reworked. These changes primarily affect the text description and do not change the actual mechanics of the corresponding skills. The location will become available on all servers from October 19 Lu4. Wedged between harsh mountains, the outpost blocks the only path through the gorge. Beyond the high wall and palisade, anxious life never subsides: sentries watch from the towers, soldiers warm themselves by the fires, and smoke drifts over the field tents. Deep within the fortification, under heavy stone vaults, weapons and supplies are stored. Here, even the silence seems wary—as if the outpost itself is listening to the road, awaiting the enemy's appearance. Location type: SG/G Monsters: levels 67–70, x3–4 Areas with elite monsters New game mechanics Unique strong opponents Interesting places for farming Loot: Low A-grade equipment, enchant scrolls, Life Stones and other valuables Other Sieges Guards in all available Castles— Gludio, Dion, Giran, Oren and Innadril —received another boost after the previous adjustment: Level increased on average by +2. P. Atk. and M. Atk. increased on average by 20%. P. Def. and M. Def. increased on average by 20%. Max HP increased on average by 35%. Significantly boosted Life Crystal: Max HP: 10 000 → 50 000. P. Def.: 1 000 → 1 500. M. Def.: 674 → 900. As a result, Castle defenses have become noticeably stronger: Guards live longer and participate more significantly in battle, while crystals now withstand focus much better and take longer to destroy. We will continue to monitor the situation, assess the actual effect on sieges and will likely adjust the values several more times in future patches. Core The operation of the doors in Cruma Tower on the way to Core has been fixed: now, once opened, they should remain open for 5 minutes. If this iteration also fails to withstand an encounter with a thousand players, the next fix may be the complete removal of the doors. Last Mourning & Postmortem Studies A week ago, a new quest was added to Cemetery, primarily designed for players who carefully explore the location. Judging by player activity, many have already discovered it and taken advantage of its rewards. For those who may have missed it: the quest is already available in Cemetery and allows players to obtain useful resources. Explore the location more thoroughly, discover new activities, and make the most of the available opportunities. Grand Olympiad Work is currently underway to create and test arenas for the future Olympiad Development of the Olympiad is at an early stage, so the system is not expected to launch in the near future. We want to thoroughly work through all the elements to prepare a high-quality and balanced game mode More gifts from our Telegram bot @EGlobal_Master_Bot We have updated the gift code system in the Telegram bot, so that regular giveaways become more convenient and fairer for every player. Now, instead of one shared code, each giveaway participant receives their own personal unique code. A personal gift for everyone. There is no longer any need to wait for someone to bring the code to the clan chat or group—simply open the bot and claim your reward yourself. More regular bonuses. Approximately once every 2–3 weeks new giveaways with useful gifts for your characters will appear in the bot. Unique codes. Each player receives their own code, and each character can activate one code from each such giveaway. The minimum activation level is 20. The gifts are intended for characters that are actually played, so rewards will not be spent en masse on temporary level 1 characters. Add the bot in advance and keep it handy—this way, the next giveaway will not pass you by, and free gifts will come directly to you instead of being accidentally discovered several days later in the clan chat. In addition, the bot is useful not only for gifts: it contains up-to-date information about the game, important notifications, links and other useful things, so it is worth checking even between giveaways. You will need to use our Launcher so that the update is displayed correctly. We strongly recommend that you use the Check Files feature, as we regularly release various minor and major updates.
